FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK
Dear Sisters and Brothers:
I want to remind you again of our upcoming Lenten Mission. It will take place on the evenings of March 16 (6:30 p.m.), March 17 (7 p.m.), and March 18 (6:30 p.m.). The themes for the three evenings are: “Repentance: Mending the Store of our Lives,”” Mary Magdalene: Enigma and Model,” and “The Mass, Our Constant Miracle.” Each evening will consist of the Mass, along with an extended mission presentation. Plan to come.
I remember as a little kid asking my mom, “Mommy, is it still Lent?” I found these weeks to be so long! No longer! It all goes by so fast! Jesus calls us to prepare – to be vigilant. The image of the fig tree helps us to realize how short life is and how each moment of each day counts: we are to use our time wisely. May I suggest a little exercise to do this week? Think about something you’ve been putting off. Plan to tackle it this week. If there are several things, pick the one that is most distasteful, the one thing that seems most difficult. Once this is done, out of the way, you will feel lighter and less burdened. You will have experienced grace at work!
